FAQ
And if your question is missing, just write to us directly.
What data does ReportWerk need?
ReportWerk builds on your existing, modeled data: usage, operational, ERP, service, and energy data, via SQL, API, or data warehouse. Machine data from IIoT systems can also be included — it's one source among many. Machine connectivity is not required.
How do the reports get to my customers?
A server-side worker generates reports asynchronously as PDF or CSV and sends them on schedule via email, daily, weekly, or monthly. After setup, no manual intervention is needed.
Who decides what goes in the report?
You do. You define global KPI templates for your fleet, for example OEE, availability, downtime, or energy consumption per machine. Your customers choose from the templates and set recipients and intervals themselves.
Is the Conversational BI Agent part of ReportWerk?
The assistant is an optional feature in development, funded by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. [Placeholder: wording per grant notice] ReportWerk works fully without this feature.
How is my customers' data separated?
Each of your customers works in their own tenant with strict data separation through row-level security. End customers invite their own employees via email and control read permissions granularly, down to individual machines or reports.
Where is the data processed?
Data is processed exclusively in the EU. We work with Microsoft Azure and server locations in Europe.
What distinguishes ReportWerk from Power BI or Tableau?
Power BI and Tableau are toolkits for internal analytics. ReportWerk is a ready-made system for a different goal: you provide reports to your customers under your brand. Tenants with strict data separation, complete branding, and automated delivery are built in. No BI team needed.
What distinguishes ReportWerk from MES and OEE providers?
MES and OEE providers sell to operators who want to evaluate their own machines. ReportWerk is aimed at you as a manufacturer, so your customers receive the data from their machines.
What distinguishes ReportWerk from IIoT platforms?
IIoT platforms require a connectivity project. ReportWerk starts with your existing data — connected machines are not a prerequisite.
We're not a software company. Does this still work for us?
You don't need to be. The system is fully developed. You configure, not program.
Our machines aren't connected. Is that even possible?
They don't need to be. We start with your existing data: ERP, MES, service tickets, energy data.
Is ReportWerk a startup experiment?
In production since 2025, 2,000+ delivered reports, 99.6% delivery reliability. Publicly funded by the State of NRW.
We already have Power BI. Why use ReportWerk?
Power BI is a tool for internal analytics. ReportWerk is a ready-made system that lets you provide reports to your customers under your brand. Tenants, branding, and automated delivery included, optionally as a paid service.
What does ReportWerk cost?
One-time setup from €5,500 for engine and portal, ongoing license and maintenance from €620 per month. Custom report scripts and ETL connectors are add-ons billed by effort. Details on the pricing page.
Why does it say "from"?
Because setup and license depend on your data basis and number of tenants. After the demo, you'll receive a specific quote.
Is there a minimum contract term?
No, there isn't. You can cancel the monthly license and maintenance agreement at any time.
We'll show you the platform and a real sample report from production. You'll see how KPI templates, tenants, and automated delivery work together.
